Lebanon and Cuba Push for Expanded, Strengthened Bilateral Ties

Beirut, September 5 (PL-RHC), Representatives of the Governments of Lebanon and Cuba declared themselves in favor of expanding and strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, after reviewing the traditional links of friendship and solidarity between the states.

The head of the Political and Consular Directorate at the Lebanese Foreign Affairs and Immigration Ministry, Charbel Wehbe, confirmed the willingness to receive Cuban ambassador, René Ceballo Prats, in Beirut, with Prats also expressing willingness to follow up on the connection.

The meeting at the headquarters of the local Foreign Ministry took place in a friendly and fraternal atmosphere that allowed both diplomats to exchange views on the current state of bilateral relations and cooperation in international organizations.

According to a report to which Prensa Latina had access, Wehbe and Ceballo stressed the traditional friendship and solidarity that characterizes the links between Lebanon and Cuba and the interest to continue expanding and strengthening the ties.

The meeting was also attended by Hassan Abbas, director of America of the Lebanese Foreign Ministry.
