Love and gratitude to Cuba always from Ethiopia

Havana, Dec 24 (RHC) Ethiopians always thank Cuba for education and preparation for life, but we as Cubans are also grateful for so many years of friendship and solidarity, said Havana's ambassador to Addis Ababa, Jorge Lefebre.

 

During his speech at the sixth Annual Assembly of the Adama Credit and Savings Association, Lefebre thanked for the opportunity to dialogue with several generations of Ethiopian-Cubans trained on the island and who contribute to the strengthening of people-to-people relations.

 

He recalled several high-level governmental meetings held in recent months of great importance for bilateral relations, such as the meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen with Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel in Havana on the occasion of the G77 and China Summit last September.

 

He mentioned the meetings between Díaz-Canel and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed at the BRICS Summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) held in Johannesburg last August and at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from November 30 to December 12.

 

On the other hand, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the visit of Vice President Salvador Valdes Mesa to Addis Ababa and the meeting with a representation of the Association of Friendship between the Peoples of Ethiopia and Cuba.

 

Finally, Lefebre thanked for the invitation to the annual assembly of that friendship association that managed to find an economic, aid and cooperation sense to the rest of its members, considered one of the pillars also of the education received in Cuba. (Source: Prensa Latina)
