Ciego de Avila, September 23 (PL-RHC) –- The Spanish chain Meliá Hotels International is expanding its presence in Cuba with the opening of a new hotel in the Jardines del Rey resort for the upcoming winter season. Luis Baez, trade specialist from the Ministry of Tourism in the province of Ciego de Avila, told Prensa Latina that Melia Jardines del Rey is a five star beach hotel located at Flamenco Beach on Cayo Coco, one of the islands that make up the Jardines del Rey resort.

He noted that the hotel has 1,176 rooms, arranged in 25 three-floor bungalows, and will be the largest Meliá hotel in the country.

Outstanding for its design concept of a sugar plantation combined with the main building built in a contemporary style, including a boulevard stretching from the lobby to the beach, the Melia Jardines del Rey Hotel is recommended for families, weddings and honeymoons, as well as meetings and events, diving, fishing and bird watching.

Meliá Hotels International has 400 lodgings in 40 countries, 27 of them in Cuba, including the Melia Jardines del Rey to be open soon in Cayo Coco, on the north coast of Ciego de Avila, east of Havana.
