Minsk, June 28 (RHC)-- The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, addressed the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which is meeting this Friday in Minsk, Belarus.

At the Palace of Independence, along with the leaders of the member and observer countries, Díaz-Canel stated that it is imperative to develop inclusive strategies that foster equitable growth, ensuring that the benefits of economic integration between our countries reach every citizen, he noted.

"The time to act is now.  Let us do so with determination, with a vision for the future, and with an unwavering commitment to integration, cooperation, and solidarity," the Cuban President stated.

"Economic stability can only be guaranteed if it is accompanied by social justice, access to opportunities, and a shared vision of development."

At the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Union, Cuba's willingness to develop close and multifaceted cooperation with the EAEU and member countries in areas such as energy, food, transportation, tourism, and biotechnology was emphasized.

He also said that, over the past five years, as an observer country, Cuba has worked with the other members of the association to strengthen dialogue and cooperation.

In this regard, he emphasized that he sees enormous potential and opportunities to expand economic, trade, and financial relations.

The head of state also emphasized that Havana can contribute to creating favorable conditions for EAEU partners in Latin American markets.

Finally, he added that Cuba's strategic geographic location in the Caribbean and the trade agreements it has signed with almost all Latin American and Caribbean countries give it significant advantages in terms of tariffs.

The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council is part of the Eurasian Economic Union summit, which took place on June 26 and 27 in Minsk, the Belarusian capital.

The EAEU is an economic alliance comprised of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. In addition to the member countries, this year's summit is attended by Cuba, the United Arab Emirates, Mongolia, Nicaragua, and Uzbekistan.
