Havana, November 11 (RHC)-- Some two hundred experts, producers and representatives of rural organizations from 20 countries will attend the Fourth International Meeting on Agro-Ecology and Sustainable Agriculture, to be held in Havana from the 17th to 24th of November.
The meeting will take place at the National Training Center for Cuban Farmers and will center on local experiences in the fields of cooperatives, rural diversification and marketing of agricultural products.
The international meeting, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Cuban Small Farmers Association, will focus on food security, agricultural production and the protection of natural resources and the environment.
It will also include the evaluation of financial and economic experiences of sustainable production systems, social and institutional factors in agro-ecological agriculture and technological advances, as well as the participation of women in agriculture and cooperative schemes.
