Experts from 20 Nations Debate in Cuba on Agroecology

Havana, November 12 (RHC).- 200 producers and representatives of farming organizations in twenty nations will attend the Fourth International Meeting of Agro-ecology and Sustainable Agriculture, to be held in Havana, November 17th to the 24th.

The meeting will take place in Mayabeque province, at the Farmers National Training Center named after Niceto Pérez, a noted farmer-leader who fought the blatant injustice against farm workers before the Revolution.

The forum, sponsored by the National Organization of Small Farmers, will debate sovereignty and food security on sustainable basis, the protection of natural resources and the environment.


Also economic and financial records, sustainable food production, the social and institutional variables of agroecological agriculture, technological advances in food production as well as gender and cooperative issues are on the full agenda.

The delegates will visit leading agroecological farms and learn from exhibitions on sustainable agriculture.
