Algiers, May 5 (RHC) –- Cuban President Raul Castro has stressed Cuba's support for Algeria, particularly in its efforts to resolve conflicts in neighboring Mali and Libya.

Raul Castro, who is paying a three-day official visit to the North African country, made the remarks following a meeting with Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

The Cuban president said: "We support Algeria's international policies, particularly in solving the Malian and Libyan crises."

Algiers has hosted separate peace talks between Libyan rivals and warring factions in Mali over the past several months.

A statement from the Algerian presidency said delegations from both countries would discuss ways of bolstering cooperation between Cuba and Algeria in various fields, including health and scientific research.
