Havana, May 28 (RHC)-- Representatives of Cuba and Japan stressed that existing bilateral cooperation projects in the field of agriculture focus primarily on rice cultivation in the central Cuban region.

Toyozo Tanaka, an expert with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), pointed to joint training programs involving farmers in the provinces of Cienfuegos, Villa Clara, Sancti Spíritus, Ciego de Ávila and Camagüey, which collectively account for nearly 50 percent of rice production in Cuba.
