Berlín, November 19 (RHC)-- The Association "Kulturhaus-Havanna" has been founded in the German capital city by a Group of five Cubans, an Italian and one German with the aim of promoting cultural affairs by artists of both countries. As part of the initiative, both Berlin and Havana will provide stages for the presentation of cultural events by German and Cuban artists.
The President of the Kulturhaus-Havana, Andreas Wendland, told reporters in Berlin that the idea for this Project was born in 1973, when Berlin hosted a World Festival of Youth and Students.
Wendland said that at that time, he came in contact with Cuban artists and he could appreciate the depth of Cuban culture. He told reporters in Berlin that the Association will become a powerful engine for better cultural reciprocal knowledge and will promote exchanges in Germany and Cuba.
The Cuban Cultural Attache in Berlin, Hector Corcho, thanked the promoters of this new Institution, which he said will allow a better knowledge of Cuban culture in Germany.
