Havana, November 23 (RHC)-- According to directives of the Havana Club International Company, the famous Cuban rum Havana Club is currently being marketed in over 120 countries.
The plant producing the popular rum is located in the municipality of Santa Cruz del Norte,in the new Cuban province of Mayabeque.
Jerone Cottin-Bizonne, Havana Clubs International general director and Pierre Pringuet, the executive director of France’ s Pernod Ricard, which distributes Havana Club, told reporters that they look forward to taking the rum to the US market when Washington lifts its economic blockade of Cuba.
They noted that although the Cuban rum is in demand in the United States, he was sure that millions of potential U.S. customers would enjoy the beverage as soon as the US puts an end to its hostile Cuba policy.
Cuban Cottin-Biznne said that the association in 1993 of the Cuban rum factory with Pernod Ricard has been successful, since they are currently selling four million boxes a year. Havana Club's director general added that such an achievement is due to the high quality of the product and of the raw materials that is used in its manufacture.
