Havana, November 23 (RHC)-- The Cuban National Institute of Water Resources and the French Inter-departmental Sanitation Union, which is part of the Paris’ Conglomerate SIAAP are planning a series of joint projects.

Maurice Ouzoulias, the administration advisor of the entity, said to reporters during the current visit to Cuba of the largest union in France, that Havana has a sewage network dating back to the 19th century and a water supply system, which compare to that of Paris.

Some of the projects currently under implementation with the Support of France include the updating of a pump under the Bay of Havana and also the sewage and water supply infrastructure.

Actions aimed at protecting Southern Havanas aquifers and the decontamination of the Almendares River, are also included in the program, along with the construction of small water treatment plants.
