Havana, November 23 (RHC)-- The Bastion 2013 strategic exercises which began on Tuesday with a call by Army General Raul Castro, ended on Friday.
The focus of the ongoing activities, island-wide, during National Defense Days –- Saturday and Sunday -- is the readiness and security of the Cuban people in the event of foreign military aggression or another emergency situation.
The two-day training comes at the end of the Bastion 2013 exercise on Friday with the participation of regular military units and command posts in every Cuban province.
On the agenda of National Defense Days are measures to secure material goods, protect the infrastructure and to prepare businesses to keep functioning under extreme circumstances.
The drill fine-tuned the operations of command posts, the missions of regular military units, the organization of the people and the country’s economic performance under military attack.
