Debates at the conference are focusing on possible solutions to some of the most pressing problems of today's world.

Other topics under discussion include decolonization, armed conflicts and terrorism.

Morales emphasized that parallel activities include master lectures, including one on racial issues in Cuba by Zuleica Romay, President of the Cuban Book Institute and winner of the 2012 Casa de las Americas Literature Prize.
