Cuba-France Boxing Match
Havana, Jun 7 (RHC) - Two-time Olympic champion Julio Cesar La Cruz sealed today the draw (5-5) that left the Cuba-France boxing duel held on Saturday in the town of Pont-Audemer.
Without overdoing it, the five-time world champion overcame the inexperienced Nail Bacquet, who came to this tough match with a record of two successes and an equal number of failures, by retirement in the second round.
His contribution came after those signed by Alejandro Claro, Yunier Sorsano, Raikol Leonard, and Carlos Aguilera, in a program of setbacks for Rolando Martínez, Luis Vinent, Leyán Tejada, Keilor García, and Nelson Williams.
The only member of the Island's squad who did not have any action was Jorge Soto, because the six-round professional fight against Benjamin Mendes ended up not taking place.
