Havana, July 10 (RHC) - The circuit return and 15,000-meter elimination races were part of the program on the second day of the Pan American Speed Skating Championships, Antioquia 2025.
Of the Cubans competing, Dayán Millán and Liz Mariam Pereiro finished 18th in their respective categories in the long-distance event.
Deivis Prior finished in the same position during the circuit race, achieving a time of 40.182. His teammate, Myleen Muñoz, with a time of 37.856 in the quarterfinals, finished in 16th place.
So far, Millán is the most consistent performer, ranking well among competitors from the Central Caribbean region.
If he continues at this pace, he could qualify for one of the spots up for grabs at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.
The only Antillean competing in the junior category, Amanda Vilches from Cienfuegos, finished 20th in the 10,000-meter points event and 19th in the 15,000-meter elimination race.
After two days in Guarne, the continental competition moved to the Guillermo León Botero skating rink in Medellín on Thursday.
The first event to take place at this venue will be the 200-meter sprint.
According to the competition schedule, long-distance skaters will not be in action during the day.
Colombia currently dominates the tournament's medal table with an impressive 14 titles, 12 runner-up titles, and two bronze medals.
Chile and Guatemala follow with one gold medal each, although the Chileans have one silver medal and four bronze medals.
