Cuban residents in Bolivia reaffirm support for regional forum

La Paz, June 15 (RHC)-- From the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Cuban residents sent a message to the participants in the Regional Meeting of their compatriots.  "We hope that all the expectations that the Organizing Committee has planned for this event are met," they stated regarding the meeting held in the Dominican Republic.

They regretted not being able to have a representative at the meeting in person; however, they expressed that they were following its details remotely.

They expressed their support for and support of all the decisions that emerge from the discussions in favor of the homeland, and reaffirmed their desire for a Cuba free from the various aggressions emanating from the United States.

“We take advantage of this letter to once again reaffirm our repudiation of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade maintained by the US government for more than six decades,” the statement released to Prensa Latina emphasizes.

The document from the Association of Cubans Residing in the Department of Santa Cruz also demands the removal of “our homeland from the list of sponsors of terrorism unilaterally drawn up by Washington.”

Officially opened on Friday, the meeting took place in the Dominican Republic with the presence of around 100 delegates from 20 countries and closed on Sunday.
