Havana, June 24 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez has warned of the urgency of Israel demilitarizing the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
On the social network X, Cuba's foreign minister stated that the population must have sufficient access to these essential resources, without limits or conditions. He specified that in May alone, 5,119 children in Gaza between the ages of 6 months and 5 years were admitted for treatment for acute malnutrition.
"Of these, 636 suffer from severe acute malnutrition," Bruno Rodríguez emphasized, reflecting the seriousness of the situation in the coastal enclave, where, according to representatives of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, humanitarian aid is becoming a weapon serving political and military objectives.
Since May, the delivery of supplies in Gaza has been carried out through a new distribution model that obstructs the participation of UN agencies and is managed by the so-called "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," controlled by Israel and the United States.
Gazan authorities have denounced Israeli attacks on these delivery points, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of people collecting food, when snipers open fire on hungry people who are simply trying to obtain something to eat.
