The 2015-2016 school year will start on the 1st of September with over 1 million 700 thousand children and teenagers entering in all of the different levels of education.

The remaining last details are being taken care of during the last few days of August to be able to greet the students as well as the teachers with optimum conditions in this upcoming stage.

"All of our workers are joining their corresponding schools and therefore it's important in this phase to get to know first hand in every educational direction at every level, what may be missing, what resources are still needed for the preparing of our teaching staff, hence, the importance of interacting with the families, with the students and guaranteeing that everything is ready when school starts on the 1st of September."

The minister of education, Ena Elsa Velázquez, also pointed out that one of the main priorities for this school year is to increase the quality of the teaching process as well as the integral formation of the students.

"This school year we'll also prioritize the modifications made and the flexibility in terms of school organization which has led us to have more coordinated work with the families and the community which is very important for us; with the organizations, institutions, specialists, intellectuals and artists that are contributing to the integral education of the students."

The minister also pointed out that the investment carried out in educational infrastructure allowed the printing of over 247 book titles with over 12 million copies. She also pointed out that educational coverage is over 95% of the country's requirements while university students continue to join the educational staff of the country.

"There are less overworked teachers and therefore these alternatives focus on the hired teachers where we also include university students from the 4th and 5th years as teaching assistants committed to teaching in our schools."

The 2015-2016 school year has the challenge of creating schools that become the most important cultural centers of the community. The formation of future professionals, the vocational formation of the students and the work with the families are main priorities of our national educational system.
