HAVANA, 30 Sept. – (AIN). - Havana’s children and youth had a field day this Sunday at the capital city’s Palace of Informatics and Computer Sciences, where they were able to become acquainted with up-to-date information technologies.
Flight and car simulators installed in the Palace were popular with the hundreds of children and youths who attended the Festival.
The exhibition was dedicated to the 18th. World Festival of Youth and Students, to be held in Ecuador next year. It also included animated comics, electronic music and digital art. Young visitors had the opportunity of creating their own comics and of developing stories with the aid of electronic instruments laid on by the Palace.
Smart phone demonstrations were provided by Cuba’s Telephone Enterprise, while technical videos were projected on screens.
Visitors also screened and the Cuban film MEÑIQUE, the first one produced in 3 D.
The Festival, according to Miguel Colina, member of the National Executive of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, is aimed at familiarizing Cuban youth with new techniques for a peacefulworld and the common well being.
