Following their successful participation in the festival Cosquin Rock, the Cuban group Toques del Río is working on a new album, with production by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Alain Pérez.

Founded in 2002 in Vueltabajo, western Pinar del Río province, Toques del Río is considered one of the most important exponents of rock and fusion music in contemporary Cuba.

The band’s first album, under the label of the Cuban record and musical editions company EGREM, was awarded the ‘El Reino de este Mundo prize’ granted by the Hermanos Saiz Association.

Band leader Zeney Alonso said they draw influence from great defenders of fusion music such as Interactivo, Habana Abierta, X Alfonso and Síntesis. The pop rock band has collaborated with other renowned Cuban groups and musicians, among them David Blanco, Qva Libre and Adrián Berazaín.

For this, their second album, in CD-DVD format, under Abdala label, Toques del Río has invited several musicians, who have influenced the group’s work in any way.
