The screening took place simultaneously at the 23 y 12 and Charles Chaplin Movie Theaters in the Cuban capital to celebrate Cuban Culture Day,

Packed by children, the two theaters witnessed the emotions of Fernanda and the Strange Case of Dr. X and Mister Jai, the first digital animated film entirely produced by Cuba and on the island.

Díaz-Canel termed as wonderful the work by Director Mario Rivas and his team to produce a film that helps to form an intelligent audience with taste. “Works like this convey  positive messages, teachings and values and helps us fight against vulgar habits and vanity in the media; it really pays homage to Cuban culture,” said the Cuban First Vice-President.  

The cartoons are dubbed by renowned Cuban actors Irela Bravo, Rigoberto Ferrera, Teresita Rúa, Xiomara Palacios and Carlos Cabal. In the 95- minute movie, Fernanda keeps solving mysteries with her friends, who appear in the 20 episodes of a previous series.

The Cuban Film Institute’s Animated Film Studios are preparing another three full-length feature films: Meñique, the first 3D movie coproduced by Cuba and Spain; Caporito y Samuel; and El Agua, in cooperation with con Venezuela.
