Universidad 2022

Havana, Feb. 11 (RHC)—Representatives of Cuban and Rumanian universities signed cooperation accords and memorandums of understanding, aimed at identifying areas for bilateral exchanges in areas of common interest.

The documents were penned Wednesday in the framework of the International Congress on Higher Education ‘Universidad 2022’, which held sessions this week at Havana’s Conventions Center.

With the presence of Cuban Higher Education Minister José Ramón Saborido, the accords were signed between seven Rumanian universities and five Cuban: University of Havana, Marta Abreu University of Villa Clara, University of Matanzas, University of Information Sciences and the Agricultural University of Havana.

The accords provide for student exchange programs, including postgraduate courses and master's degree programs.

Prioritized sectors include technology development, innovation and health.

The Congress ‘Universidad 2022’ included an academic program with virtual and in-person activities and the participation of delegates from some 30 nations. Workshops, symposiums and forums focused mainly on issues related to the fulfilment of the Sustainable Development Goals, university-business link, the role of student organizations and professional training.
