Granma vs Industriales

Havana, January 11 (RHC/JIT)-- A game between the multi-champions Granma and Industriales will become a special attraction of the activities for the 60th anniversary of Cuba's national baseball series, which this Friday will reach stadiums and other facilities in the country.

The decision responds to the fact that the Alazanes are the reigning champion and the Leones of the capital are the most winning team in the series, commissioner Juan Reinaldo Perez Pardo explained to JIT about the duel scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

The executive added that shortly before the so-called Coloso del Cerro will host the presentation of the documentary Estrellas de una pasión, by filmmaker Yodeni Masó Águila, dedicated to the protagonists of the first editions of the main sporting event of the island.

He added that the day will begin with the flag-raising of the teams registered for the 61st version, which will start on January 23, and will include the exchange of its members with children and young people in each of the provinces, which are called to organize festivals, skills tests and other initiatives.

"The objective is to deploy activities that highlight the significance of that date and the role of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in the conception of a baseball of the people and for the people that is the pride of Cubans," he emphasized.

Perez Pardo praised the disposition observed in this regard during the tour that led him to the meetings of conformation of the teams for the classic that is knocking on the doors, and stressed that the celebration will have as special guest the president of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Riccardo Fraccari.
