Coaches course in Italy

Havana, December 2 (JIT) - Prestigious coaches from Italy's National Soccer School are giving a methodological course to their counterparts in Cuba.

The gesture rewards the work developed by Cuban doctors in the most difficult moment of the covid-19 in the transalpine country, and is sponsored by the Italian federation of that sport.

The course, held at the Manuel Fajardo University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences, is attended by 25 high-performance coaches in Cuba.

They will receive advice on new soccer trends from November 29 to December 9.

Among the advisors is the president of the Associazione Italiana Allenatori Calcio (AIAC), Renzo Ulivieri, who imparts knowledge on technique and tactics.

He is accompanied by Gaetano Petrelli, professor of goalkeeper preparation, and Giambattista Venturati, professor of training methodology and athletic preparation.

"We believe this is a very good opportunity to get closer to the best soccer methodologies on the planet. We will take advantage of this event to continue with the systematic improvement of our coaches, which has been one of the most important lines of work for the sake of the development of this sport in Cuba," Oliet Rodríguez Méndez, president of the Cuban Football Association, told JIT.
