Lima, December 6 (RHC)-- The creation in Cuba of the Special Development Investment and Trade Area at the port city of Mariel, west of Havana, was the focus of the speech of Cuban Industrial First Deputy Minister Lenin Echevarria, at the Fifteenth General Conference of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization – UNIDO— in Lima, Perú.

Speaking to his Latin American and Caribbean counterparts, the Cuban official described the advantages offered by the industrial and commercial development area, available at a commercially strategic crossroads of international maritime and air connections.

The areas’ installations are supported by engineers, industrial specialists and skilled workers to guarantee the success of any industrial initiative.

This Special Development area offers incentives to investors, both Cuban and foreign, including tax breaks and other fiscal, customs, and banking advantages, which, along with investment guarantees, are part of the attractive opportunity.
