People's Tribunal Finds Indonesian Government Guilty of Genocide in 1960s

The Hague, July 26 (RHC)-- In news about Indonesia, an international people's tribunal has found that Indonesian government was responsible for "genocide" against members and supporters of the country's Communist Party in 1965 and '66.

The government of General Suharto killed up to a million people after the general deposed his predecessor, President Sukharno.  General Suharto was backed by the United States.

Speaking to Al Jazeera, the head of the international people's tribunal at the Hague called on the Indonesian government to apologize and provide compensation for survivors.
