Mexico City, September 24 (RHC)-- The foreign ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) are holding their 20th meeting by videoconference this Thursday.

The meeting is being headed by the Mexican Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marcelo Ebrad, in his capacity as this year's Pro Tempore President of the Community.  The meeting is expected to ratify the commitments with the Latin American and Caribbean unity, as well as the work of CELAC as a mechanism of regional political agreement.

During this week, preparations for the meeting were held, which includes a report on the progress made during Mexico's temporary presidency in accordance with the work plan established in January of this year.

Among the topics to be discussed will be progress of the regional access to the vaccine against COVID-19, developed by AztraZeneca with the governments of Argentina and Mexico.  In addition, Cuba's efforts in researching its vaccine candidates will be noted.
