Havana, February 5 (RHC)-- The National Electoral Commission of Cuba (CEN) has reported that 195 special polling stations will be enabled on February 24th for the Constitutional referendum.

According to CEN authorities, these will be located in places with a high concentration of people such as bus and train terminals, student residences, hospitals and hotels, so that all citizens with legal right to vote, may do so.

Those unable to vote at their local polling station, may do so at the special sites.   Meanwhile, authorities have assured that conditions will be created in areas affected by the tornado so that people can vote.

The Magna Carta -- approved last December by the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) --  is available in printed and digital format.

On February 24, more than eight million Cubans will be called upon to certify the new constitution of the Republic, which ratifies the socialist character of the island and the leading role of the Communist Party in society.   It also includes changes to the structure of government, expands guarantees and human rights, promotes foreign investment, and recognizes various forms of property, including private.
