Jose Marti European solidarity brigade starts working visit

Havana, July 1 (RHC) The 49th contingent of the “Jose Marti” European solidarity brigade is starting its yearly working visit Monday, with the demand that the United States put an end to the economic, financial and commercial blockade that it has imposed on Cuba for nearly 6 decades.

During their stay on the island, the European friends will attend the presentation of the panels Need for global solidarity with the Caribbean nation and against the blockade; and Latin American and Caribbean Solidarity in defense of just causes and peace, organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, (ICAP).

According to ICAP´s sources, the panels will also be attended by ambassadors and representatives of independence and social movements accredited in Cuba.

The brigade members hail from a dozen European countries and they will have a 20-day program of activities on the island. They will carry out productive work,  and exchange with trade union leaders, youth, athletes and Cuban people in general.
