Cuba reports new 850 COVID-19 infections, 4 deaths

Havana, Havana, February 11 (RHC) The national director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported on Thursday four deaths and 850 new infections of Covid-19 during the last 24 hours.

This update brings the total number of diagnoses to 35,772 and 253 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic in the country.

During his TV briefing, Dr. Duran said that with the addition of three new molecular biology laboratories in Pinar del Rio, Cienfuegos and the International Center for Drug Research and Development (CIDEM)  in Havana, , there are 21 such facilities in the country. On Wednesday, they processed  18 614 PCRs.

17,128 patients were admitted with Sars-Cov-2 related issues by midnight. Of them, 4,768 were active cases. 981 people recovered and were discharged during the day.

Havana recorded the most cases, 528, followed by Santiago de Cuba with 78, and Pinar del Rio with 46.
