Havana, June 17 (RHC)-- The general secretary of the CubanTrade Union Federation (CTC), Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, on Wednesday called for joining efforts and wills in favor of the human species to shape a labor future with social justice for all.

During a virtual address at the 19th International Labor Conference (ILO), the Cuban leader highlighted the decision of the Cuban government, together with trade unions and employers, to protect workers in the context of the COVID-19.

In this regard, Guilarte referred to the sanitary protocols established in the workplaces that continued to operate to face this pandemic and its effects on the labor scenario of the country.

In that sense, he explained that workers in the tourism, transportation, commerce, and art sectors, among the most affected by the pandemic, and private sector workers, mostly received salary protections or tax incentives from the Cuban State.
