Cuba, Bolivia Advocate for Deepening Economic Links

Havana, June 24 (PL-RHC), -- Bolivian Minister of Productive Development and Plural Economy, Teresa Morales, has highlighted the importance of the economic and commercial relations between Latin American countries, and the need that they have at the level of the political links.

"At a height like this, we have a strong political integration in the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), which is very vigorous, but it corresponds to the ministers of the industrial, commercial and productive area, to transfer such a political integration," said Morales to Prensa Latina.

"We want to build the tissue for the connection between our nations, becoming to be at the level of the political integration," she said, in her speech on her participation in the 1st International Exhibit and Convention of the Cuban Industry in Havana.

She gave importance to such an extremely important event, in which her country, Bolivia, participates with a delegation mainly composed of the new public industry, which in the past eight years has been generated on the basis of the resources recovered from hydrocarbons.

Part of these resources were devoted to industrialization, have assembled different industries -dairy and citrus- some with the support of Cuba, she said.

Bolivia also brings some very special products like stevia, a natural sweetener much used by those who cannot eat sugar, and several other products that have to do with cosmetics, but from natural elements.

Referring to economic links between the island and Bolivia, she stressed that Bolivia is working in the textile industry as "flagship of our industrial integration."

"This material productive integration is irreversible, as also the political links, but without material, political links would be lame, vacuum", she added.

The event meets until June 27 in the Havana Convention Center, which develops the theoretical section consisting of conferences, seminars, workshops and business rounds.

Parallel to the Convention, at Pabexpo, there is the sample of products, equipments, components, parts, technologies, technical assistance and services associated with each branch, as well as an expo-sale room.

According to its organizers, the presence of around 29 nations and more than 200 foreign companies will facilitate the establishment of agreements, alliances and associations with these companies in order to contribute to national development.
