Havana, November 29 (RHC)-- In the context of the Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Madrid, Spain, the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) was constituted this Sunday.

In an address to the event, Cuban lawmaker Yolanda Ferrer, Chairwoman of the International Relations Commission of the Cuban Parliament, recalled, in particular, Fidel Castro's remarks on the relevant role of the Movement in the international arena.

According to the Madrid Declaration, the Parliamentary Network will provide a framework for cooperation and coordination among parliaments and promote contacts to ensure collaboration in this field.

Furthermore, it expresses its strict adherence to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and its grave concern about the rapid spread of Covid-19.
