Haiti and Cuba Address Bilateral Cooperation

Port-au-Prince, July 8 (RHC) -- Haitian Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe and Cuba's ambassador to Port-au-Prince, Ricardo Garcia, addressed the pace of bilateral cooperation accords between their two countries.

According to diplomatic sources, the talks tackled the Cuban support of the literacy campaign in Haiti and the opening of its sixth stage, as well as special government plans for poor areas.

Prime Minister Lamothe and Ambassador Garcia also addressed the work of the Cuban medical brigade, whose activities in Haiti date back to December 1998.

The meeting was attended by several Haitian government officials and Cuba’s acting business secretary, Liliana Garcia.
