Ciego de Avila, January 8  (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Friday praised people's participation in promoting the country's programs to improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.

During a visit to the Ceballos People's Council in the central province of Ciego de Avila, the President urged residents to contribute their criteria to help establish priorities, control, and participate in efforts to improve the quality and sustainability of the tasks that are undertaken.

"There is a lot of talent in our population; that is why citizens must give their opinion, participate and mobilize. We can do many things that do not need so many resources. That emancipates, exalts, and elevates the quality of life," he pointed out.

Diaz-Canel was interested in the administration of the booster dose of home-grown vaccines against Covid-19 and the number of people convalescing from the disease in the community.

The  President also visited the neighboring province pf Camaguey, where he stressed the importance of the political and ideological work of the Communist party and highlighted the lessons learned in 2021.

There he participated at the stock-taking meeting of Camaguey Municipality’s Communist Party, where he underlined the need of analyzing society with a Marxist approach

Referring to the current pandemic outbreak, the president said that the country is facing it under different conditions than before and highlighted that 20 percent of Cuba's population already has its booster dose.
