Havana, May 21 (RHC) The U.S. Coast Guard returned 48 irregular Cuban migrants on Friday. With the latest round, 1,258 migrants have returned in 29 maritime operations this year.

In the operation carried out by the port of Orozco, in Bahía Honda, in the western Artemisa province, two women and 46 men who left the country illegally by sea were returned.

This brings to 364 the number of those returned this month, reported national television.

Meanwhile, 68 migrants from Mexico and the Bahamas were returned by air.

These operations are in line with the political will of the Cuban government expressed in the bilateral agreements concluded with these countries to prevent irregular migration and departures that endanger human life and to fight against acts of violence related to these events.
