Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Arrives in Cuba

Havana, May 25 (RHC)-- St. Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves arrived in Cuba for an official visit.

At the capital's José Martí International Airport, the Cuban Foreign Affairs, National Security, Legal Affairs, and Information Minister, and leader of the Unity Labor Party, was received by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez.

According to the scheduled program, Gonsalves will receive the José Martí Order from the hands of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, recognizing his political career in the national and international spheres and the friendship shown to the Cuban people and the Cuban Revolution.

Cuba and St. Vincent, and the Grenadines will celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations on Thursday. They have been characterized by a high level of political dialogue and excellent cooperation ties in different spheres, the Cuban Foreign Ministry recalled.

As a result of those ties, 117 Cuban professionals have served in the neighboring nation of almost 120,000 inhabitants, and more than 300 students from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have graduated in Cuba in various specialties.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines maintains its support for Cuba against the U.S. blockade.

Welcoming Gonsalves on Twitter on Wednesday, Díaz-Canel described the visitor as a brother and companion in struggles and ideas.
