It is a day of joy and pride for the trust that Cubans place in the electoral political system and in the country's leadership.

Havana, Nov 27 (RHC) Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister of the Republic, said that this Sunday's elections of delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of People's Power are the highest expression of socialist democracy.

The head of government exercised his right to vote at polling station number 2 of the 89th constituency, in the municipality of Playa, and stressed that the process takes on special significance in the current context of the intensification of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade by the United States.

Today we select the legitimate representatives of the people and then an important process begins that will end next December 17 with the constitution of the Municipal Assemblies, he added.

While waiting to exercise his right to vote, he told the neighbors that the recently concluded international tour of Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Republic, was positive and highlighted the fruitful meetings with government representatives and businessmen from friendly countries in order to strengthen cooperation.

According to the National Electoral Council, some eight million Cubans are called today to the democratic process, who will voluntarily, freely and anonymously elect the most suitable candidate to represent them in local bodies. (Source: ACN)
