Díaz-Canel congratulates Dominica's Prime Minister on his election victory

Havana, Dec 7 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated on Wednesday the prime minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit, whose party won the parliamentary elections.

 

The Cuban leader congratulated the leader of the victorious Dominica Labor Party (DLP) for the victory achieved in Tuesday's elections. He could have won 13 of the 21 seats that were disputed for the legislative body.

 

In a message on Twitter, Díaz-Canel ratified Cuba's commitment in favor of bilateral relations between the two peoples and Latin American and Caribbean integration.

 

With the Dominica Labor Party´s victory, Skerrit assured for the sixth time to lead the island of Dominica, becoming the prime minister with more years of service in the history of the island nation.

 

Skerrit visited Havana in April this year to hold talks at the highest level, participated in the BioHabana 2022 congress, and received the José Martí order, the highest Cuban distinction. (Source: PL)
