Cuban forum on world balance raises expectations in France

Havana, Jan 19 (RHC) The solidarity association France Cuba expressed on Thursday in Paris, expectations for its participation in Havana in the 5th International Conference for the Balance of the World, from the discussions planned on the challenges of humanity.

Gérard Godefroy, a member of the National Bureau of the organization founded more than 60 years ago, told Prensa Latina that they will attend the forum with seven delegates, "which will be held at a time of effervescence and changes on both sides of the Atlantic, with a wounded but very aggressive U.S. imperialism, and the blockade against Cuba and its extraterritorial scope prove it".

The event, scheduled for January 24-28, will provide spaces for debate necessary in these times, such as inequalities, conflicts, climate change, and the economic crisis.

"It is valuable to discuss various issues from the legacy of José Martí, the Cuban National Hero, who fought for a better and balanced world," said Godefroy.

The member of France Cuba also valued the opportunity for the association to ratify in Havana its solidarity with the Antillean nation and to interact with other organizations.

He described as unacceptable the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island for more than six decades, and stressed the importance of progressive forces working together to denounce and confront it.

He also underscored France and Cuba's commitment to disseminate the reality of the Caribbean country, in the face of the disinformation promoted by the mainstream media.

The forum, which will be attended by more than a thousand delegates from 82 countries, will commemorate the 170th anniversary of the birth of José Martí (1853-1895), who left a legacy of values ranging from independence and peace to unity and harmony with nature (Source: Prensa Latina).
