Tehran, June 23 (RHC)-- Admiral Ali Shamkhani, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said Sunday that despite the fallout of the American attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, the game is far from over.
Shamkhani, the former top security official who was severely injured in last week’s terrorist aggression by the Zionist regime, warned that “surprises will continue” to occur. “Even if nuclear sites are destroyed, the game isn’t over, enriched materials, indigenous knowledge, and political will remain,” he wrote in a post on X on Sunday.
He said the side that strategizes well and avoids reckless attacks will gain the advantage. “With legitimate defense rights, political and operational initiative is now with the side that plays smart, avoids blind strikes. Surprises will continue!” he added.
The Israeli regime launched an unprovoked aggression against Iran last Friday, with American backing, assassinating top-ranking military commanders, scientists, and other ordinary civilians, including women and children.
After more than a week, as the regime took heavy blows from Iranian armed forces, the US decided to formally intervene in the war despite the public opinion in the US against it.
In the early hours of Sunday, the US launched unlawful strikes against Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, in clear violation of international law and the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
While the U.S. claims to have “obliterated” the nuclear sites, according to Press TV sources, all three sites had long been evacuated, and the enriched uranium had also been relocated to a safe location. Also, the scale of the attack was minimized by air defense systems.
Russia’s former president and senior security official, Dmitry Medvedev, also said on Sunday that despite the illegal aggression of the United States on the Iranian nuclear sites, the Islamic Republic is expected to continue with its peaceful nuclear program.
He also noted that the critical infrastructure of the nuclear fuel cycle appears to have been unaffected or sustained only minor damage.
