Brussels, November 26 (RHC)-- The African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP) has approved a motion that demands the lifting of Washington's over 50 year-long economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba.

The document, approved in the context of the 102nd meeting of the bloc's Council of Ministers, which concluded Wednesday in Brussels, also hails the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the governments in Washington and Havana.

At the Brussels meeting, the participating ACP ministers praised what they called 'the courage and dignity of the Cuban people, their significant contribution to the liberation of several African countries and to the economic and social development of other developing countries, through the implementation of cooperation programs in various fields.'

They specifically praised Cuba's significant contribution to the global fight against the deadly Ebola virus.
