The U-20 World Cup Will Begin its Semifinal Phase

Havana, October 15 (RHC) – Today, the top four teams in the U-20 World Cup: France, Morocco, Argentina, and Colombia, will play the semifinals in Chile with matches with reserved predictions.

At the Elías Figueroa Stadium in Valparaíso, the French and Moroccan teams will face each other in a clash that has a strong scent of revenge.

Three years ago, in the Qatar 2022 senior championship, the two teams met in the semifinals, and the Europeans defeated the North Africans 2-0. This Wednesday, they will try to turn that situation around in the U-20 category.

In Chile, Morocco has so far displayed a very organized defense and a devastating attack, qualities that allowed them to qualify from the group stage and defeat South Korea in the round of 16, as well as the United States in the quarterfinals.

France survived Japan’s constant pressure and scored the goal in the final moments that took them to the quarterfinals, where they defeated Norway, but not without some difficulties.

During the evening, fans are expecting a great match between South Americans, when Argentina will face Colombia at the capital’s National Stadium.

The Gauchos have not lost or drawn a single match throughout the tournament, giving them a perfect record and the title of favorite against the Colombians, although anything can happen on the field.

Colombia is highly motivated after its 3-2 victory over Spain, but one of its main stars, Néyser Villarreal, will not be in the lineup today, suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards.

This is the player who knocked out the Iberians by scoring all three goals in that memorable match.

Nobody wants to miss these matches, because they will determine the two countries that will compete next Sunday for the top prize in the U-20 category, a tournament organized by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
