The U.S. government is pressuring and deceiving several countries to change their traditional position against the blockade against our people, Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, denounced today.
Through his account on the social network X, the president asserted that the US administration fears what will happen at the next United Nations (UN) General Assembly: the overwhelming majority of the international community’s rejection of its genocidal and economically suffocating policy against Cuba.
This Wednesday, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla issued statements to the national and international press to denounce a disinformation campaign seeking to distort Cuba’s image and generate confusion among UN member states.
He criticized the US’s lack of solid arguments, suggesting that its approach is based on intimidation rather than persuasion, with the intention of changing these nations’ traditional position at the UN against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade it has imposed on Cuba for more than six decades.
