Havana, November 1 (RHC) – Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos scored today in stoppage time and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Nice 1-0 at home to secure the top spot in French football on the eleventh matchday.
At the start of this afternoon’s matches, the Red and Blues nearly jeopardized their lead, but Ramos rescued the three points with a corner kick in the 95th minute, a play that also involved South Korean Lee Kang-in and Georgian Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
With the victory at the Parc des Princes, PSG reached 24 points in Ligue 1, an insurmountable lead regardless of the results of the other two matches on Saturday and the six on Tuesday.
The coach of the reigning French champions, Luis Enrique, rotated his squad, with Ousmane Dembélé and Fabian Ruiz on the bench and captain Marquinhos not playing, ahead of the demanding Champions League clash between unbeaten sides, Bayern Munich, on Tuesday in Paris.
Later, second-place Monaco (20) will host Paris FC (11) at the Stade Louis II in the Principality, aiming for a victory that would keep them close to PSG.
Meanwhile, Olympique de Marseille (19), third in the Ligue 1 standings, will visit second-to-last Auxerre (7) in the evening.
