Havana, November 15 (RHC) – Spain mercilessly thrashed Georgia 4-0 today and maintained their perfect record in the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
Spain secured a victory with goals from Mikel Oyarzabal (2), Martín Zubimendi, and Ferrán Torres at the Boris Paichadze National Stadium in Tbilisi.
With this win, Spain achieved their fifth victory in as many matches and solidified their position as leaders of Group E with 12 points, having scored 19 goals and conceded none.
Furthermore, they mathematically secured their qualification for the next World Cup, scheduled for June and July 2026 in Mexico, Canada, and the United States.
Also on Saturday, Belgium drew 1-1 with Kazakhstan, Wales defeated Liechtenstein 1-0, Turkiye beat Bulgaria 2-0, and Austria defeated Cyprus by the same scoreline.
