Havana, December 4 (RHC) – Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong completed the entire training session with FC Barcelona today and is available for selection by coach Hansi Flick for the next Spanish league match.
According to the sports daily Sport, the Dutch international should be ready for next Saturday’s match against Betis, having recovered from the fever that kept him out of the 3-1 victory over Atlético de Madrid two days ago.
This news is a relief for Flick, who has several key players sidelined with injuries (Dani Olmo, Ronald Araujo, Marc-André ter Stegen, and Fermín López).
Sport notes that FC Barcelona will return to training on Friday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to finalize preparations for the match against Betis.
Currently, the reigning champions, the Blaugrana, lead La Liga with 37 points, followed by Real Madrid (36), Villarreal (32), Atlético de Madrid (31), and Real Betis (24).
