Havana, December 9 (RHC) – FC Barcelona defeated Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 today at the legendary Spotify Camp Nou and continued their climb in the European football Champions League.
After six matchdays, Barcelona have accumulated ten points (fourteenth place), the result of three wins, one draw, and two losses, and maintain their hopes of securing one of the eight direct qualification spots for the next round.
The German side, who had barely made an impact in the match, took the lead in the 21st minute with a goal from Ansgar Knauff after a counter-attack, thanks to an assist from Nathaniel Brown.
In the second half, however, Jules Koundé appeared with a pair of headers from crosses by Marcus Rashford and Lamine Yamal, allowing Barcelona to take definitive control of a match that had their fans sweating.
This Tuesday, Bayern Munich defeated Sporting CP 3-1 to draw level at the top of the table with Arsenal on 15 points.
