Bolshunov Won the Sprint at the Russian Ski Championships

Havana, March 1 (RHC) – Three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov won the freestyle race today at the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Championships.

According to the online newspaper Vzgliad, three-time Olympic champion Bolshunov won the freestyle sprint at the Russian Cross-Country Skiing Championships, clocking in at 3 minutes and 18.18 seconds in the final, 0.10 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Yegor Mitroshin. Ivan Gorbunov finished third, 0.25 seconds behind Bolshunov.

In the women’s event, Elizaveta Pantrina won the competition, completing the distance in 3 minutes and 55.09 seconds. Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova finished second, 0.16 seconds behind, and Evgeniya Krupitskaya finished third, 0.20 seconds behind Pantrina.

Bolshunov, 29, has won four silver and two bronze medals at the Olympic Games, in addition to being a world champion and multiple world champion. The Russian Championship in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk will conclude on March 8.
