Marxlenin Pérez Valdés, screenwriter presenter of the television program “Cuadrando la Caja” and former professor at the University of Havana, will tour 18 cities in Spain during the month of March. Organized by the State Movement of Solidarity with Cuba (MESC), the visit will address the challenges facing the island in the face of the new phase of US imperialism under the current administration of Donald Trump.
In some cities, solidarity groups have called for rallies in support of Cuba and against the criminal US blockade before the events.
This tour is also part of the activities being held worldwide to commemorate the centenary of Commander Fidel Castro, under the slogan “100 Years with Fidel.”
The Cuban intellectual, a Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, will offer talks analyzing the intensification of the economic blockade, the energy crisis, and the disinformation campaigns suffered by the Cuban people. Her presentations, far removed from academic discourse, will also serve to debate the construction of socialism in the 21st century and dismantle the dominant media narratives that seek to justify imperialist aggression against the island’s sovereignty.
